I have decided to follow my lifelong dream of working in an investigative field. My original dream was Criminal Profiler for the FBI. That path was no longer an option many years ago, so I am forging a new path. I would like to start my new career by looking for missing adults. When there is no sign of foul play, the department overseeing the case, oftentimes does not have the resources to search for a person that might have chosen to leave on their own. How funding is made available and the resources available to different police departments is a conversation for another day. I would like to be able to offer my services of searching and following up with the unlikely clues, the possibilities that are a little too far fetched or cost too much to follow, by the police department.
My long term goal will be to get my degree in Criminal Justice, and possibly my PI license. I would like to have trained search dogs and a network of people that I can call on to help with various types of searches as they arise. I would also like to own a lab to run possible evidence through instead of clogging up the always backlogged state evidence labs. Until then I will simply be a writer, and a blogger.
I have not figured out the cost of this endeavor, nor have I figured out how to bankroll this project/career of mine. I have a few ideas, but nothing concrete at the moment. I am having a cart before the horse moment, and not knowing which one I should focus on.
Things I have learned this week. There are Federal Grants for businesses that contract with City/County and State agencies that are For-profit, and not available for Non-Profit.
I have a million comments, questions and concerns after reading the items on the next City Manager meeting docket.
The specialty search and rescue group Adventures with Purpose found the 16 year old girl that was missing out of Truckee. They only started 2 years ago and have helped solve 22 missing persons cases. I hope I can collaborate with them in the future.
I want to own a bookstore. That has art/paint nights. and has podcast/Youtube studio recording area. And coffee and snacks, because…well I love both.
